Another 10-task challenge. You obviously don’t need to do all 10 tasks, choose as many as you want, but I figured it gives you some variety and allows you to pick and choose movies that fit your taste but also maybe lead you to watch something you wouldn’t normally seek out. For each task, you can pick whatever movie fits within the guidelines, I've added links to help you out. I tried to add tasks that would allow you to get movies on Netflix, Amazon Prime, and/or Hulu – but there’s also Kanopy and Hoopla (both of which you can get free access through your library or university). Have a different movie for each task – that is, don’t have the same movie for task 2 and task 6.
Tasks:
1. Watch any movie that features an athlete, either playing themselves or actually acting. If you want to expand your options you can watch any movie about an athlete or sports movie in general.
2. The New York Times recently made a list of the 25 Greatest Actors of the 21st Century (So Far)... it was a mess of a list (Keanu's agent working overtime). Watch any movie that features an actor/actress on the list. I added the names at the bottom here in case you can't access NYT.
3. I had plans to travel this year only for everything to turn to shit. Watch any movie that takes place somewhere you'd like to visit.
4. Watch any movie that was the highest rated the year it came out.
5. Watch any Christmas movie.
6. Watch any noir or neo-noir movie.
7. Watch any movie featuring a cult or secret society.
8. December 21st is Winter Solstice, the shortest day of the year. Watch any short film (lets go with anything under 30 minutes).
9. Watch any movie Roger Ebert listed as one of the greats.
10. I don't really know how to explain this task, but in a movie when some loud bang happens and the character loses hearing for a moment and they do that high pitched squeal thing... watch any movie that has that.
